In the majority of instances, delivery will be made to address stated on customer’s order in 1-2 working days subject to stock availability. Any change in this timescale will be notified by phone, email or both within 1 working day.

Delivery days are Monday – Friday not including bank holidays. With some products, we may be able to arrange a Saturday delivery but at an extra cost.

Orders received after 3pm may or not be processed on the same day, this does NOT count as 1 working day. Orders placed on a Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday will be processed the following working day.

Once the order has been accepted a confirmation email will be sent to say the order has been received. Once arrangements have been made for the delivery a further email will be sent advising of the expected delivery day/time period.

A preferred delivery date can be entered at the point of ordering. This is not guaranteed.

These dates are given as guides only and are quoted in good faith. We always endeavour to fulfil every order in the timescale provided. Please do not arrange for tradesman to be on site to carry out work with materials before they have arrived. Buildershop UK Ltd will not be liable for any loss or damage either direct or consequential resulting from any failure to meet quoted delivery dates or periods.

Some products carry a longer delivery lead time, this will be noted on the product page.

On some occasions, the product selected may not be available at the chosen location. If this is the case, an alternative will be offered. If deemed unsuitable for any reason, a full refund will be given.

DELIVERY CHARGES

  1. Orders with a sales value in excess of £100 (excluding VAT) will be delivered free of charge. This is with the exception of the categories detailed below.
  2. Insulation, plasterboards, laminated plasterboards, metal wall & ceiling products carry separate delivery charges. See below for details. Orders with a sales value less than £100 (excluding VAT) will be charged £20 (excluding VAT).
  3. There will be a small order charge of £20 (excluding VAT) applied for any order under the value of £35 (excluding VAT). This is to cover the cost of potentially having to ship low value but heavy items on a pallet. This charge will be applied along with the standard delivery charge. An additional charge may be levied if the order has to be redelivered or redirected due to a fault by the purchaser.
  4. If a delivery is deferred or postponed by the purchaser, an additional charge may be applied to cover storage or administration charges. The purchaser must ensure that there is adequate access to the delivery site. Failure to do this may result in an additional fee being charged.

On a small number of products namely building blocks and products in the specialist mortars & chemicals category , a surcharge may be payable for deliveries inside the M25 region. This also applies to postcode prefixes HP, AL, CB, IP, NR, PE, CM, SS, BR, ME, DA, CT, TN, RH, GU, SL, RG, OX, SP, BH, SO, PO, BN, LU, SG, CO This is due to the fact that the costs to these areas are higher than the rest of the UK. If a charge is payable, you will be contacted straight away. If the costs associated are deemed too high, a full, no quibble refund will be given.

In some regions it may not be possible to supply the steel lintels without charging a separate delivery charge. This is based on whether or not there is a delivery depot with the stock that is close enough to deliver. If there isn’t, the option of an external courier can be used but will incur a delivery charge. This will be notified within 1 working day. If charges are too high then a full refund will be provided.

DELIVERY VEHICLES

Depending on the products purchased, deliveries are made by a number of different delivery methods. On large, heavy materials, delivery is generally made on 10 – 26 tonnes vehicles with off-loading facilities such as Hi-ab crane, Moffett fork truck or tail lift with pallet trucks. On very large full load orders such as bricks and blocks, delivery is likely to be made by an articulated vehicle measuring as much as 16 metres (52 ft) in length. On these deliveries, a crane off -load facility will be available. If a specific method of delivery is required, please enquire before ordering as in the event of failed/returned/redelivered/redirected goods, charges may apply.

Deliveries of Bricks, Decorative Landscaping products such as Paving and Decorative Aggregates are usually made on large vehicles weighing up to 17 tonnes. Delivery is made by a tail-lift wagon which has a pump pallet truck. Surface must be reasonably level (to enable the driver to push the pallet) and sound (tarmac/concrete/paving). If the delivery can’t be made because of any of these reasons, a £80 return pallet (outgoing & return) charge will need to be paid along with any restocking charges that the manufacturer/supplier charges. If access is tight or there are any possible restrictions, please let us know before delivery so we can try and find a solution.

Deliveries are made from the kerbside only and suitable access and conditions must be in place for the driver to deliver. Every effort will be made to place any materials in the most suitable, safe position that the driver/purchaser agrees on. If the driver is required to leave the highway and feels it is safe to do so, a disclaimer may need to be signed before accessing private property to pass any blame for any resulting damage.

Any issues such as overhead cables or uneven/steep ground that makes delivery not possible means charges may be applied for returned/redelivered/redirected goods. If they are any potential problems such as the above or any other foreseen issues, please notify us beforehand and we will do our utmost to help.
